ID Commander is an application that offers caller ID information.

ID Commander features
  • TAPI complaint modem handling allows ID Commander to monitor the ID of incoming calls without interfering with other applications such as an internet dial-up account.

    ID Commander performs the same function as a standard caller ID module, but with more capabilities. For ID Commander to work, you need a modem that supports caller ID and a subscription to the caller ID service from your phone company.

    ID Commander will log calls including date, time, number and name, if available. The name sent by the phone company is only 15 characters long.

    To make the log more readable, you can add a number to the caller database and specify a more appropriate description for the caller such as a nickname, etc. Also, you may specify a WAV file to be played when a call is received from a specific number, thus revealing the identity of a caller without the need to look at the computer monitor.
