Windows XP does not provide you an option to set a per-user default email client. One setting affects all users, machine-wide.
This utility allows you implement a per-user default mail client, with respect to ALL of the following three aspects:
- A mailto: Uniform Resource Identifier (URI).
- Programs that make Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) calls.
- The Send Page by E-Mail command in Internet Explorer.
In Internet Explorer, the following menus use simple MAPI calls:
- File/New/Message
- File/Send/Page By E-mail
- File/Send/Link By E-mail
It automatically detects installed email clients and allows you to simply select which one to use.
