GUIdir is for people who want to use a text line inteface in Windows, whether that be a dos window, the run command, the address bar or a third party utility such as TrayCL.
It acts as an interface to the DOS dir command, returning the list of files found in a list box which allows them to be opened by clicking on them, or selecting them with the keyboard and pressing Enter. The containing folder can be opened instead by right clicking or pressing Shift+Enter.
