DrvImagerXP restores and creates images of FAT32 and NTFS drive partitions for the Windows2/XP operating systems.


DrvImagerXP makes backups of your partitions, but does not copy file-by-file, it doesn't know anything about files!. It creates a mirror image (but not reversed) of a partition by coping the sector bytes on the partition. And it does this very fast! You can create images of different operating system setups and swap them out in just minutes!

For example, you can install XP on partition C:, then use it for a few days, setting all your options, installing your favorite programs with their options, etc. Now that you have the perfect system, you can use DrvImagerXP to create an image of your C: drive, and if you have other partitions (D:, E:, etc) you can create images of those too. Later, when you feel you would like a fresh system, restore the images and your system will be identical, in every respect, to the way it was when you created the images.

You can create setups with completely different operating systems and swap them out at will in minutes! It does the same thing as commercial programs costing $60-$70, but it's free, and updates are just a click away!

  • Unlike typical backup programs that copy files, DrvImagerXP makes backups (image files) of NTFS and FAT32 drive partition structures (as well as floppy disks), for the Windows 2/XP operating systems, by copying, byte-for-byte, the drive partition sectors. And when not using file compression, can do this very quickly, much faster than copying files.
  • You'll never have to install your operating system again! You can install it, make all your option changes and get it just right, then use DrvImagerXP to create a partition image that you could name "Fresh Install". If you need to go back to a brand new fresh installation of your operating system, you can restore the partition using the "Fresh Install" image in just a few minutes.
  • You can make partition images of different operating systems and swap them in and out at will!
  • Save floppy disk images for faster copying, or for archives.
  • Save the image file as multiple zipped files.
  • Span an image file over multiple CDs/DVDs.
  • Though not as powerful and flexible as "Drive Image" or "Ghost" drive imaging programs, the simplicity, yet powerful capabilities of DrvImagerXP make it the favorite choice for many.
