WibTeX is a little, useful and simple database program which will enable you to organize your references to books, articles and other texts. It is of special interest to academics who must cite frequently and who want to organize their citations in a professional manner.

A main feature of WibTeX is the interface to BibTeX, a TeX package by Oren Patashnik. TeX is a professional and free document preparation system. Many books and especially scientific texts are set in TeX. BibTeX permits to cite from a central database file and has many formatting features. This way references once typed are available in all new documents, and the table of references can be generated.

Import from and export to (also as a selection!) the BibTeX file format

Direct customizable export of citations to Microsoft Word (Vers. 2+above) documents as well as an automatic generation of a list of references at the end of the document (see picture below)

Export of database to the RTF and HTM file format

Easy hyperlinks to electronic documents stored on your local disk or on the internet (drag & drop from Windows or Internet Explorer)

Unlimited search in all fields of the database, including parts of words or numbers.

Creation and editing of records via a user friendly formular displaying all options available (see picture above), or, alternatively, via a list view offering many personal configuration possibilities
