Carabao Do-It-Yourself Machine Translation Kit is a customizable toolkit for language creation. It allows creation of your own machine translation interlingua-modeled databases and using them on-the fly.

Carabao DIY Machine Translation Kit features
  • N-gram design which allows translation between any two languages in the database, rather than crafting translation pairs one-by-one. This is especially important for minority languages, creating pairs for which is not economically viable
  • Compatibility to the structure of paper dictionaries which allows mass import from regular human readable dictionaries
  • Openness of lexical database, including rules and basic definitions. Everything can be customized
  • Model and entities are grammar-independent and are suitable for any language without the need to reprogram or even recompile. Lexical data is stored in transactional database
  • Small footprint
  • Style sensitivity and control - ability to reshape the result so it will bear the same meaning but in different style. For example, the user may write a phrase using common words in French, and the program would translate it into official style in English.
  • Inline conversion of measures.
  • Built-in thesaurus for words and idioms found in the processed text.
